
A passenger aircraft whose type MD-80 trying to land on Phuket International Airport fell down
in the eastern part of Thailand. It has been declared that of 123 passengers, 88 have died.
PHUKET- A passenger plane belonging to One-Two-Go Airways taking off from Bangkok fell
down while trying to land on the airport in Phuket Island, a touristic area. It was reported that half
of 123 passengers in plane were tourists. There were five flight crew on the plane.
Thai authorities said that of 78 foreigners on the plane, 25 ones could be rescued after the crash.
Authorities of Airport Administration stated that there were 45 Thailanders and 78 foreign passengers
and that Captain pilot was Indonesian and both auxiliary pilot and flight crew were Thailanders.
Minister of Health in Thailand Mongkol Na Songkhla said 88 passengers died as a result of crash
and 43 ones have been rescued. From the crash, 7 English, 4 German, 3 Dutch, 3 Irish, 3 Iranian, 2 Swedish,
1 Australian, 1 Italian and 1 Austrian tourists, in total 25 ones, were rescued.
Nationalities of 3 ones surviving are not known yet but the other passengers who survived were
determined to be Thailanders. Police has been declared to perform autopsy in order to determine the
identities of deceased 88 passengers.
