It is stated that as a resolution, the EU may consider accepting KKTC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) into the Union.

BRUSSELS- According to the EU sources, in case a resolution for Cyprus issue is not found under the roof of the United Nations, the choice of recogniniton of KKTC by the European countries may seriously come up.

EU authorities, underlining that the Greek side is not willing to reach an agreement, think that this idea which is just being discussed now will gain a more concrete nature in the light of the attitude that Greek side will maintain after the elections to be held in Southern Cyprus.

EU sources emphasizes the final status of Kosovo will become definite at the end of the year and adds granting independence to Kosovo may set a good example for KKTC.
